For 58 years St Mary’s Catholic Maternity Clinic has been doing great work in the lives of the people in Isoko Nation. Just recently it was officially recognised in the Community as a ‘Hospital’ by the simple gesture of the dignitaries from the Church and the local community. About fifty people gathered in the Clinic on the 26th of July 2014 to unveil the sign-post depicting ‘Hospital’.
The ceremony was officiated by Rev. Father Jude Igho, who in his capacity as the Chairman of the Health Commission in the Diocese, represented the Bishop of the Diocese.
He prayed for the people who make use of the facility and encouraged the people to avail of the facility. The next step is that we expect the Ministry of Health to come for an inspection of the hospital because we have submitted all the required documents for registration to the Ministry.
The people were very enthusiastic and happy to see the Maternity Clinic grow and become a hospital They asked for expansion and more doctors. The people also asked for a reduction in the charges to enable more people to use the facility.
To God be the glory.
