The Feast of the Visitation of Mary was celebrated in style by the RSC’s in Southern California. Read Sr Brid O’Shea’s account of the special day below.
Saturday noon all cars seemed to be headed for Caritas in Culver City where a great welcome awaited them.
Those invited were all RSC’s, Associates, and Mary Aikenhead Friends who were absolutely thrilled to be among us.
Our afternoon began with a very touching tribute to Our Lady (a contemporary May Crowning) beautifully and artistically prepared by Sr Kathleen Bryant.
One of the men present said he never witnessed anything like it and was moved to tears especially as we called out the names of our African young women who were kidnapped.
Sisters Marsha, Kathleen, Francis Maria and Michelle prepared a feast to delight and tantalize the taste buds of all present.
The community feeling was such that folks did not want to leave but we look forward to more such gatherings where associates and ourselves continue to minister and celebrate each other and our common heritage of Mary Aikenhead.
