On 22nd September a resolution was passed in the US House of Representatives honoring the historic contributions of Catholic women religious to the history of the United States.
The resolution, which was introduced into the House on May 14, 2009, by the Honorable Marcy Kaptur of Ohio (pictured left), “honors and commends Catholic sisters for their humble service and courageous sacrifice throughout the history of this nation; and supports the goals of the Women & Spirit: Catholic Sisters in America Traveling Exhibit, a project sponsored by the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) in association with Cincinnati Museum Center and established to recognize the historical contributions of Catholic sisters in the United States”. The resolution was passed unanimously.
