Sister Catherine Egan shares with us her experience in St Andrew’s Hospice during the pandemic; “Just to say how we adapted to the current situation of Covid -19 in the hospice setting here at St Andrew’s Hospice, Airdrie
“Just to say how we adapted to the current situation of Covid -19 in the hospice setting here at St Andrew’s Hospice, Airdrie. Our usual bereavement Services which occur each month were all cancelled, and we were aware of the void in people’s lives especially those who had lost loved ones in the Hospice.
A service was held within the hospice grounds on August 19th, and we had several hundred people attending, the feedback was very positive, and we were blessed with a lovely dry evening, Our usual hospitality had to be somewhat different, but everyone present received a bottle of highland water and individually wrapped homemade shortbread!
With the service being held within the spacious grounds of the Hospice we were able to ensure social distancing for everyone”.
