Sr Justina Nelson celebrated her Silver jubilee on the 9th November at Holy Family Catholic Church, Festac Town in Lagos. It was a day of thanksgiving for God’s faithfulness and love as Justina surrounded by sisters, family members and friends, celebrated with joy and gratitude to God for twenty five years of dedicated service in the Congregation. She is grateful to all those who have touched her life during these past years.
The homilist was Fr. Bonaventure Achibi (Oblates of St.Joseph). He thanked Justina for her generosity in responding to the invitation of God to be his witness and a sign of his love for these past twenty five years. He also challenged her and all those present (the religious and priests in particular) to live up to their calling as prophetic religious who live in a world of consumerism where the acquisition of wealth has created a huge gap between the rich and the poor. He encouraged everyone to be loving and happy people who portray a loving God to those they work with and especially those they live with in community.
Justina also celebrated with family members, friends and parishioners at her home Parish in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on the 8th December 2013. It was another moment of jubilation, thanksgiving and celebration. The presence of the Sisters of Charity added more colour to the occasion. The people were overjoyed. The celebration was very colourful with traditional dancers who entertained the congregation after the Mass. It was really a joyful and exciting moment, a moment of gratitude, thanksgiving and praise for God’s goodness, fidelity and love for the past 25 years.
