On the 1st February 2014 the Religious Sisters of Charity, staff and pupils in Kabwe, bade farewell to the head teacher Mrs Beatrice Musole who officially retired on the 31st December 2013 having spent twenty seven years there, (together with her husband who was also on the staff for many years), as a member of staff, deputy head teacher and head teacher of the school.
The day began with a Mass of Thanksgiving which gave all the opportunity to thank God for the gift to the school of Mrs. Musole and for all that she has done for the pupils there. There is a time for everything as it says in Ecclesiasticus – there is a season for all things. Now is Mrs. Musole’s time.
Following the Eucharistic celebration there was lunch, entertainment, speeches and gifts for the retiree. During her speech to the staff and invited guests Mrs. Musole expressed how humbled she felt, being the centre of attention on the day. She said that she was more used to arranging these events for others. She expressed gratitude to the Religious Sisters of Charity, some who have gone on to their eternal reward, for giving her and her late husband the opportunity to work in a mission school. Both were in fact, in the early days, the first associates of Mary Aikenhead and Mrs Musole continues to carry the charism as part of her being.
She also extended advice to her successor to graspwith open hands the challenges that the office presents and start her own journey which will benefit the pupils in Caritas Convent Secondary School.
Mrs. Musole also addressed the pupils in the school and spoke of her time in the classroom and in administration. She reminded them that hard work will bring success for them. Discipline, respect and co-operation are important in all aspects of life and her prayer for the pupils is that they will have good lives and she looks forward to hearing good things about them.
As Religious Sisters of Charity we would like to thank Mrs Musole most sincerely for her years of dedicated service to the pupils in our school and we continue to ask God to bless her and her family as they cross into a new phase of their lives.
