It is interesting to see how many Religious Congregations and Societies share the same motto as ourselves (The love of Christ urges us on). One such Society is St. Patrick’s Missionary Society (affectionately known as Kiltegans). The priests from St. Patrick’s have been closely associated with us in Roma, since the school began nearly fifty years ago…
and we were delighted to be able to share and celebrate with them a momentous occasion for the society – the ordination of the first Zambian Kiltegan Father in March of this year.
Another feature of this occasion was the fact that the now Father Emmanual Sunkutu is also the first parishioner from Roma parish to be ordained. The celebration was a joyful occasion and was graced by His Eminence Joseph Cardinal Madardo Mazombwe. In attendance were many religious from various congregations along with many Religious Sisters of Charity and also the pioneer Fathers from Kiltegan who began the parish in Roma. Fr. Emmaual was baptized in the church where his ordination took place by one of these priests.

We wish Fr. Emmanuel every blessing in his new ministry in Northern Nigeria and we look forward to many years of continuing collaboration between ourselves and the Kiltegans.
