In an effort to equip the Sisters and the local community in Warri Diocese with the necessary information and knowledge about the issue of human trafficking. The Sisters of Charity held a Capacity Building Workshop which was organised by Sr Justina Nelson in collaboration with NAPTIP (National Agency Prohibiting Trafficking in Person) who were also the resource people.
It was a two full day’s workshop with about fifty participants from different age groups, youths, men and women from different churches which included our own students from Mary Aikenhead Centre and Warri Diocesan Justice, Development and Peace members. It was very educative and challenging too. The sisters would like to thank NAPTIP Benin Zonal Commander and his entire staff for the training package they gave the group. The sisters report that NAPTIP appreciate greatly the passion and commitment of the Congregation for the cause of the less privileged and vulnerable people and especially regarding the issues of human trafficking.
