In July 2015 Columba Press approached the Congregation to ask if we would write a book about Mary Aikenhead. It was an historic year because we were celebrating our 200th anniversary and Pope Francis had declared Mary Aikenhead ‘Venerable’ on 18th March.
Sr Rosaleen Crossan was approached to write the book and took to the task with a little trepidation but with a great love of Mary Aikenhead. The result of all her hard work is ‘Friend of the Poor – Mary Aikenhead’. It was launched on 21st November 2016 by Pat Coyle from the Irish Jesuit Communication Centre who gave an inspirational talk about Mary Aikenhead and how Pat has come to know her story in the past few years.
