During the first week in October three Sisters of Charity – Srs Maria Shawa, Rosemary Ng’andu and Mary Balogun will arrive in Konzalendo, in the Diocese of Chikwawa, Malawi to begin a new community. The last time the Congregation moved to a new country was 31 years ago when we went to Venezuela and also to Shashemane in Ethiopia – so this is another historic moment in the story of our Congregation.
The prayers and good wishes of all the Congregation go with our three pioneer sisters. They will spend the first few months getting to know about the culture of Malawi and also learning or ‘brushing-up’ on the language. They will also be getting to know the people of Konzalendo and working with them in a participatory way – with open minds and hearts, ready to listen and to decide together where God is calling them to contribute to life in this part of Malawi.
We invite you to join with us in prayer for our sisters and the people of Konzalendo. CLICK HERE for a copy of the prayer being said these days by the members of the Congregation.
