On Friday, 6 March 2026, the Religious Sisters of Charity participated in the international moment of prayer for peace organised by the International Union of Superiors General (UISG).
At a time when many regions of the world are affected by violence and conflict, the UISG invited communities everywhere to unite in prayer, fasting and reflection for peace. The online gathering brought together religious congregations from every continent, offering a shared space of reflection, hope, and solidarity with all who suffer the consequences of war.
In communities across the Congregation, Sisters paused to remember in a special way those whose lives have been torn apart by war, families forced to flee their homes, those who have been wounded, and all who live each day with fear and uncertainty.
The initiative echoed the words of Pope Leo XIV, who spoke of peace as the desire of all peoples and called for dialogue instead of violence.
Through prayer and reflection, the Sisters renewed their commitment to work for peace in their communities, ministries and in the wider world. In union with countless others who participated in the global gathering, we prayed for the grace to build a world where dignity, compassion, and justice prevail.
As the Congregation continues its mission of service to those most in need, we remain united with the wider Church in praying and working for peace in our world.
