
Our Lady’s Nursery and Primary School, Bomadi, joyfully marked its 25th anniversary with a colourful and well-coordinated four-day Silver Jubilee celebration, held from November 3 to November 6, 2025. The milestone event was a resounding success, drawing together students, teachers, alumni, parents, and members of the wider community in gratitude and celebration.
Day One: Silver Jubilee Tree Planting & Community Outreach
The celebration opened with the planting of the Silver Jubilee Tree, a symbolic act representing growth, continuity, and hope for the future. This was followed by a community sanitation exercise, as students and staff worked hand-in-hand to clean the school environment and neighbouring areas, reinforcing the school’s commitment to service and environmental responsibility. The day concluded with a free medical outreach, through which essential healthcare services were provided to members of the local community.
Day Two: Sports Fiesta
Excitement filled the air during the Inter-House Sports Fiesta, where students displayed remarkable athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. At the end of the keenly contested events, Mary Aikenhead House emerged as the overall winner, earning well-deserved applause and admiration.
Day Three: Cultural Day Festival
The Cultural Day Festival was a vibrant showcase of Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity. Dressed in colourful traditional attire, pupils represented the country’s cultural diversity through music, dance, drama, and storytelling, celebrating unity in diversity and promoting cultural pride among the young learners.
Day Four: Grand Finale, Holy Mass & Awards
The Silver Jubilee celebration reached their peak with a Thanksgiving Holy Mass, officiated by Most Rev. Dr. Hyacinth Oroko Egbebo, MSP, alongside other priests of the diocese. The occasion also featured the launch of the school’s new Friday wear and the presentation of awards to outstanding individuals, including some Sisters of the Religious Sisters of Charity, whose unwavering commitment has been central to the school’s growth and reputation for quality education. Teachers, staff, and students who have made significant contributions to the school’s development were also duly recognized.
A Legacy of Holistic Education
The Silver Jubilee celebration was a powerful testament to 25 years of dedication to holistic education, faith formation, and community development. It fostered a renewed sense of unity, gratitude, and pride in the remarkable journey of Our Lady’s Nursery and Primary School, Bomadi, an institution committed to shaping minds, hearts, and futures for generations to come.
