To mark Mary Aikenhead’s birthday each year, all our schools receive a copy of a suggested Prayer Service and copies of eight specially printed certificates, based on eight values towards which we seek to educate our pupils/students.
These values, outlined in our RSC Religious and Educational Philosophy Booklet are:
Justice, Compassion, Responsible Citizenship, Taking Initiative, Taking Responsibility, Having a Realistic Sense of Self, Growth in Freedom and Maturity, Being Alive to Wonder.
The wording on the certificates is modified for Primary Pupils.
Each school is invited to select students/pupils to receive the Certificates. Some schools have the Award Ceremony as part of the Prayer Service on 19th January; other schools include it in the Annual Award Ceremony scheduled later in the school year.
Congratulations to all those who participated in this annual celebration of Mary Aikenhead’s Birthday.
