“The voice of God is easy to recognize, but difficult to take to heart,” said Sister Edith Prendergast. “It is a voice that calls us away from old habits, inviting us to adopt more wholesome ones.” To hear God’s voice, she continued, people need to be reflective and discerning. Sr. Edith Prendergast opened up the 45th annual RE Congress with a wonderful keynote on the theme “Voice Infusing Life” / “Voz que Infunde Vida”.
Participants from 41 countries attended the Congress and the total in attendance numbered 40,000 . Speakers gave workshops on liturgy, theology, parenting, justice, scripture, media, spirituality and catechesis.

Colorful, expressive liturgies reflected various cultures and music. Sr. Pereka Nyirenda was able to attend the Native American Liturgy while others went to the Hawaiian liturgy. Each day 4 different liturgies were offered in different languages and cultures.
