Christmas and New Year Greetings from Beechlawn House
Our Sisters resident in Beechlawn House, which is run by Mr Chris Horgan and his many dedicated staff, had a memorable Christmas.
Though the season may have passed, the warmth, love and laughter remains in their hearts.
There was a wonderful outing to the Concert Hall on December 5th for a special Christmas-themed concert. Sr Alice Doherty joined in the festive fun, singing Christmas songs from start to finish.
The Christmas spirit was alive for the party held for all residents on December 12th. They enjoyed the finger food, festive drinks and a great sing along. It was a joyful afternoon filled with smiles, laughter and festive spirit, reminding everyone of the warmth and togetherness of the season.
Our gratitude to all the catering staff, nurses and healthcare assistants for their care and support throughout the event and to management for helping to bring everything together. The teamwork helped create a truly memorable celebration for everyone.
Fr Alex Stenson, Chaplain to Beechlawn who offers Mass on a daily basis, joined in and helped make the afternoon feel extra special.
January 19th
While many sisters travelled to Cork on the 19th for the Eucharistic Celebration in thanksgiving for the presence of the Religious Sisters of Charity in Cork for the last two hundred years, the sisters in Beechlawn were able to join in through the webcam. This was due to the generosity of Sr Gerardine RGS who looks after the spiritual needs of the Residents with great tenderness and compassion. Gerardine set up a large screen in the Chapel which was beautifully decorated for the event. We owe Gerardine a great debt of gratitude.

Greetings from Sr Enda O’Donovan
Belmont House Nursing Home
Sr Enda the proud winner of a generous hamper, sends her good wishes to all and wants to express her gratitude to the Congregation that she is being cared for in such a homely and comfortable place. She is also grateful to Sr Christina Gorman for all her support.
