Sr. Margaret Walsh celebrated her Golden Jubilee at the Sheraton Hotel on Saturday February 25, 2012 with family, sisters and friends. Anne, Margaret’s niece, and Lorraine, her grandniece, both travelled from Ireland for the celebration meal and to spend time in California with Margaret.
Many teachers and a teacher assistant who were colleagues from St. Columban’s, Garden Grove, and St. Hedwig’s, Los Alamitos were present to celebrate. The mayor of Garden Grove, Bill Dalton, was also present along with the Hause family from St. Hedwig.
Sr. Angela Flavin welcomed everyone to the Jubilee. Sr. Kathleen Newell was introduced and offered the Grace before the Meal. Sr. Margaret Walsh offered a thank you to all in attendance at the end of the meal and noted that the Oscars (Academy Awards) would be awarded the following day. Margaret acknowledged that all those present were her awardees and thanked them for walking the “red carpet” with her!
Sr. Francis Maria Monsimer is also celebrating her Golden Jubilee this year. Both Sr Francis Maria and Sr Margaret Farrell (Silver Jubilarian) were part of the Archdiocesan Jubilarian Celebration at Los Angeles Cathedral with the Archbishop.
