The theme for earth day 2018 is END PLASTIC POLLUTION. The invitation for this year’s earth day is to begin to eliminate single use plastic from my life, our lives. The aim is to change human behaviour and attitude about plastic and work towards a significant reduction in plastic pollution.
SUGGESTED TIPS:
1. Bring your own shopping bag.
2. Bring your own water bottle, do not buy bottled water.
3. Bring your own cup, do not use plastic cups
4. Say no to disposable cutlery or straws
5. Skip the plastic packaging and produce bags in stores or supermarkets as much as you can
6. #refuse the single use #choose re-usable
CELEBRATE THE DAY BY SPENDING TIME OUTDOORS WITH NATURE
It doesn’t have to be the blue iris
it could be weeds in a vacant plot
or a few small stones
Just pay attention, then patch
a few words together and don’t try to make them elaborate
this isn’t a contest but the door way into thanks
and a silence in which another voice may speak
