Many of our sisters in the region are involved in different aspects of parish work and pastoral care.
Sisters in Los Angeles are involved in a Christian Care Program which serves the poor and the homeless in the San Pedro area.
One sister in Los Angeles is the Director of the RCIA for three Communities--Hispanic, Anglo and Vietnamese in St. Columban Parish. They have a large group each year of thirty to forty persons who are baptized at Easter.
Another sister leads and provides opportunities for Adult Faith Formation; this includes Taize Prayer, Bible Studies, Evenings of Awareness in the area of Human Trafficking and coordination of collection of supplies for those rescued from human trafficking situations.
Two sister‘s ministry is that of Pastoral Associate, a leadership role on the Parish Team with the pastor. One sister works in Our Lady of Malibu Parish. This entails being the Director of RCIA, offering marriage preparation as well as pastoral and marriage counselling to parishioners.
